Before our church Harvest festival and Trunk or Treat on Saturday, we went to visit the kids Great grandparents. Minnie Mouse AKA Bug didn't want to be in the pictures. She was there though.

Disney on Ice

Last Thursday we took the kids to Disney on Ice. The kids loved it. They were very intent into the whole show. Bubba wanted to see Woody, Jesse and Buzz which was of course at the very end. It was a really excited show and I loved the Japanese part with the fans.

Bug & daddy with the free disposable camera that we got.
She kept trying to take pictures of herself.
Bubba watching intently.

Bud and daddy during intermission.

My favorite part with Minnie.

Finale' with Mickey & Minnie at the Christmas party.

Disney crew at Halloween

Bug wanted to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween (actually her Aunt bought her the dress) so we thought why not have all 3 of the match. Bubba wanted to be Mickey Mouse. He was Mickey once before so all we needed were black sweats and shirt. (which we got on sale)
Bud wanted to be Goofy. It's harder to find a Goofy costume so daddy and I came up with the costume. My mom found the directions for the hat and it wasn't that hard. I made the vest from a pattern of a vest I already had. I think it came out really well.

Pumpkins

We went to Heiser Farms in Dayton on Wednesday. http://www.heiserfarms.com/ It was a blast. They had 2 slides made out of huge pipes. The boys LOVED the fast/big one. There was alot to do and it was free. The pumpkins were only 15 cents a pound (during the week). So we got 3 pumpkins and the boys went through the corn maze a couple of time. Luckily, there was a couple of Kindergarten classes there for a field trip so we were able to hitch a ride on the hay ride. (it's not normally available during the week) Here are the kids with their pumpkins.
Bug tried to clean all the pumpkins.
Budda kept saying his was sooo heavy.
Bud found his pumpkin right away.

I hope the video on the last post works for everyone. I can't figure out how to add words to it too. One thing at a time.

Updates....

We have sucessfully moved in. It's been 2 months since my last post. But man what a busy 2 months it's been. I'm not even sure I remember everything that we did or in what order. So here are a few things that have happened:

  • Moved from McChord AFB in Washington State to Dundee, Oregon
  • Attended the Ankeny family reunion
  • Went camping at Fort Stevens state park
  • Jody retired from the US Air Force
  • Went back to Washington for a couple of days for a class Jody had to take
  • Went back to Washington to attend the Puylaup Fair
  • Bud turned 10!!!!! I can't believe he's double digits!!!
  • Unpacked our stuff, then repacked some to put in storage
  • Went to the beach with the kids and had a blast
  • Made some new friends from our new ward
  • Started school with Bud and tot school with Bubba and Bug

That's all I can think of right now. See we have been busy. I'm finally getting into a routine of how things are going here so I'm going to work blogging back into the schedule. (Hopefully soon)

Breaking from blogging....just a bit

I have been really good about blogging lately. I was really proud of myself but....

WE ARE MOVING!!!!!!!!
So, I'm going to take a little break and not stress. We will be moving in 2 weeks from today. It's very quick and exciting at the same time. We will be living in Dundee, Oregon for the next 2 years and then we will see where are next adventure takes us.
For those that don't know Jody is being medically retired from the Airforce with 100% benefits due to his cancer. We are very grateful and blessed that we were in the military. We will miss everyone from where ever the Airforce has taken us.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers during this long journey.

Cute kids

I just love my three beautiful kids. It took a little trying but I finally got this ADORABLE picture!!!!

Carlton fun days

When we were in Oregon last week we realized that Carlton fun days were happening. We were going to go to the parade but we got a late start so we just went to the lower pack. The kids were about to play in the bouncy house and then play a couple of games. I guess we got there too late because most of the games were closed. Bud was able to get enough tickets to get 2 pieces of candy. Good thing the games were free. The "toddler" games were closed but the pool of ducks were still there so Bubba played with those. He had a blast just catching them with a net. There was a book booth and they gave away a free book to each child. The kids love books and of course Bud is half way through his which is "The BFG".

They were doing a knight re-enactment.

I couldn't help but take this picture. It was so cute!!!!

Medical board results

So we are on vacation in Oregon for Bug's birthday which is the fourth of July. Monday we received news that Jody's medical board results were in. He will be permanent retired with 100% benefits. At this time we don't know actually know what that means. We will know more next week when we get home. This is more than we expected so we are very excited and feel very blessed. Thank you to everyone who have kept us in your prayers.

PS Jody is doing fine as are the rest of us. Pictures will come later.

Security

I love to blog hop and I'm sure others do too. But I get a little concerned over security with the internet. Sometimes it's not very secure. So we have come up with a play to use nicknames for them. It's gonna take some time to change it through out the blog but that's ok. So here is...
Bud (the big one) Bubba (the little one) Bug (the girl)

Yard saling

We went yard saling today and I believe we got the best deals we've ever gotten.
Jody went to get donuts and then stopped at a couple of yard sales. He picked up 3 DVD's. I went out a little bit later just to check things out. Then I had to go get Jody because I found a men's bike with a helmet for $15.00. Jody had found a bike on the side of the rode (for those not in the military people will put lots of different items on the side of the road for big trash pick up day and it's free for the taking). Well, at the beginning of this week someone came into our car port and stole his bike. He had gotten me a bike too but mine doesn't have a seat or any air in the tires so I guess the thieves didn't want it. I was really bummed because we had just bought a double bike trailer from a friend and we're excited about going on bike rides as a family.

So, here's our haul and yes that's a Cricut!!!!

We got:
Pokemon DVD 25 cents
Mickey mouse clubhouse DVD: 25 cents
Veggie tales 4 DVD set: 50 cents

2 Cars shake n go cars: 50 cents a piece

bucket of blocks: $1

Hand mixer: $1 (for my mom)

Rotary cutter and small mat: $2

7 binders (for school): $2

CRICUT!!!: $35 (for my mom)

I was really excited and when the lady said she'd take $35 I was SHOCKED!!!! Jody said ummm we'll buy it. I called my mom and she immediately said I'll buy it from you. So now my mom has one too. :)

New blogging goals

So, I have been thinking about our family blog and how I have been neglecting it. I've figured out that I need to make blogging more of a priority because I want this blog to be a family journal.

My new goal is to have a new post every 2 days. I hope my kids give me enough things to blog about. Ok, so I know my kids will give me lots to blog about.

I also have started a new blog to display my craft projects and to talk about anything crafty. That way the family blog can be just that...about our family.

My new craft blog site is www.wonderfulworldofcrafts.blogspot.com

There's nothing really there yet but it's on my today list. (which is never ending)

20 pounds!!!

It's official. Miss bug has FINALLY reached 20 pounds!!!! Yeah, we still encourage her every day to try new foods but she's come along way. She isn't on the growth chart yet but the doctor said she is proportional for her height and weight. Now, I can breathe just a little.

11 years ago today

April 17th, 1999.... Two people started a life together

2 boys and 1 girl later....

What an amazing eternal family they have created

Spaghetti

So we've been having some difficultly with Miss bug's eating habits since she stopped nursing like 9 months ago. We resorted to force feeding baby food for awhile but I couldn't take that any more. Plus she wouldn't really eat very well from any one else but mom. At one point there were very few foods that she liked. I started just giving her a plate of whatever we ate and not anything else. She has started EATING!!! Yeah!!! This is her eating spaghetti. As you can see, she LOVES it!!! She actually ate 3 helpings.

She wanted to do it herself. No one could help her. Hence, the red face and hands. The spoon is just there for show. She didn't really use. She just thinks she did.

Both the boys in action

Daddy and the kids

There was a picture with mom and the kids but it didn't get posted for some reason. Oh well, you don't really want to see me. :)

Movie star

Seriously, enough said....isn't she just the cutest movie star ever?????

Vinyl project

I have fell in love with....vinyl. I found a great company that sells vinyl for my Cricut at a great price. They also have project ideas on their website. I decided to try one out. I just wasn't really sure who to make it for. Then I remembered that this would make a great gift for Kevin and Melanie. I made this for their sealing date. I think it tured out really cute.

I used my gypsy to design it and then used my Cricut expression for the cut. I applied it to the glass and then used a dab of hot glue in each corner just to help keep the glass in the frame.

Re-do of the craft area

About a year ago, hubbie was given a foosball table. Now, we did have a play area in the dining room but he REALLY wanted the foosball table so I gave in. The toys went into the bedroom (which bugs me) and we got a nice foosball table. He also hung up Bud's magnetic dart board on the door. My craft area was on the opposite side of the living room. I was running out of room. I wanted to put things on the wall and couldn't. So, I decided to switch the area. Hubby wasn't so sure so I told him that I would switch it all by myself. I did and now I LOVE IT!!!

Before in the dining room

Doesn't it look really cramped? Now, I have TONS of room. I love it!!!

After
(Ok so hubby put up the shelves)

After

After
I love my new area. It only costed me $5.00 and that was the little buckets that I got in the Target dollar spot. I had everything else. I had the shelves, blue tins (which match the buckets perfectly), I also had the grid system and baskets. I miss the 100 Yen store where I can get all of this stuff. Luckily, I have some friends that will send me anything when I NEED (want) it.
